Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley on Monday praised a Charles County developer’s plan for a “green city” as a “model of a 21st-century city” that will create nearly 1,000 jobs in the short term.

Google Phone: Another Day, Another Sighting (PC World via Yahoo! News)

A second report of a Google-branded mobile phone has emerged online, possibly vindicating TechCrunch’s Michael Arrington, who made a similar claim in mid-November, not to mention earlier whispers from other sources. The latest rumor is courtesy of Gizmodo’s Mark Wilson, who reported Monday that a new “Google Phone” will run a new and improved version of the Android operating system:

Google Nears Release of Chrome Web Browser Beta for Mac (PC World via Yahoo! News)

It has been over a year since Google released the initial beta version of its Chrome Web browser software. The Chrome browser was taken out of beta, then put back into beta, and finally taken back out of beta a few months ago. Until now, though, there has not been a version of Chrome for Mac OS X users.

Microsoft’s Bing has revealed a top ten list of the most popular trending topics of 2009. To determine these, Bing analyzed billions of search queries and developed the list based on searches made with the Bing search (I mean decision) engine. “Not surprisingly, we saw a lot of folks using Bing for quick access to favorite sites like Facebook, MSN, Youtube and Craigslist,” says Bing Geneal Manager Danielle Tiedt. “We also saw a lot of more complex searches such as product related queries in which people used Bing to help decide what MP3 player to buy and travel searches to help find the best deals on a tropical vacation.” Here is the list Bing came up with: 1.
